Markson Pianos
These Terms & Conditions govern purchases from Markson Pianos (“we”, “our”, “us”). By placing an order with us,
you agree to these terms.
- Orders
1.1 All orders are subject to availability and acceptance.
1.2 A contract is formed when we confirm your order in writing (email confirmation).
- Prices & Payment
2.1 All prices are in GBP and include VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.
2.2 We accept payment by debit/credit card, bank transfer, or approved finance providers.
2.3 Goods remain our property until full payment has been received.
- Delivery
3.1 Delivery is available across mainland UK; additional charges may apply for remote locations.
3.2 We will provide an estimated delivery date. While we aim to meet this date, we are not liable for delays outside our control.
3.3 Customers must ensure suitable access for delivery. Extra charges may apply if specialist equipment or additional staff are required.
- Risk & Ownership
4.1 Risk passes to you on delivery.
4.2 Ownership transfers only once full payment has been received.
- Cancellations & Returns
5.1 You have the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:
- Before Dispatch: You may cancel at any time before delivery for a full refund.
- After Delivery: You have 14 days to notify us if you wish to return an item.
5.2 Returned goods must be in their original condition with all packaging, manuals, and accessories.
5.3 Return transport for a piano will be arranged by us; a collection charge may apply unless the item is faulty or damaged.
5.4 Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
- Faulty or Damaged Goods
6.1 Please inspect your piano on delivery.
6.2 If goods are faulty, damaged, or not as described, we will arrange repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Warranty
7.1 All new pianos are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty (typically 5–10 years).
7.2 Used pianos may be sold with a retailer warranty (duration specified at point of sale).
7.3 Warranty excludes normal wear, tuning, accidental damage, and misuse.
- Limitation of Liability
8.1 We are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of enjoyment, lost lessons, or consequential costs.
8.2 Our total liability is limited to the price paid for the goods.
- Privacy
9.1 We handle your data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

- Governing Law
10.1 These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
Cancellation Policy
You have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- Before Delivery: You may cancel your order at any time before dispatch for a full refund.
- After Delivery: You have 14 days from the day you receive the piano to cancel and request a return.
- Condition: The item must be returned in its original condition, with all packaging, manuals, and accessories.
- Returns of Acoustic & Grand Pianos: Collection will be arranged by a specialist piano mover. A collection charge may apply unless the item is faulty.
- Refunds: Issued within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Delivery and Returns Policy
At Markson Pianos, we aim to make your piano delivery as smooth and stress-free as possible. This policy outlines how we manage delivery, installation, and related services across the UK.
- Delivery Areas
We deliver pianos across mainland UK.
- Standard Delivery – Available within England, Wales, and most of Scotland.
- Remote Locations – Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland, and other remote areas may be subject to additional charges and longer lead times.
- International Delivery – A tailored quote will be provided. All costs shown include insurance from Markson Pianos to the packing company or port location. Any duties or import taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
- Delivery Charges

- Digital Pianos: For most digital pianos we offer a standard UK delivery and build service. Charges based upon weight and size.
- Upright Pianos: Free ground-floor delivery to most UK postcodes (unless otherwise stated).
- Grand Pianos: Specialist delivery teams are used. Charges vary based on location, piano size, and access requirements. A quotation will be provided before order confirmation.
- Accessories & Small Items: Delivered by courier; standard shipping charges apply.
- Delivery Times
- Stock Items: Typically delivered within 5–10 working days.
- Special Orders / Back-Orders: Delivery times vary depending on supplier lead times; we will provide an estimated delivery date at the time of purchase.
- Preferred Delivery Dates: We will do our best to accommodate requested delivery dates but cannot guarantee availability.
- Access Requirements
To ensure a safe and successful delivery, customers are responsible for:
- Confirming that the piano will fit through all access points (doors, corridors, stairways, lifts).

- Informing us in advance about stairs, tight turns, steps, or restricted access. Photos and a video of the property access may be requested.
- If additional equipment (cranes, stair-climbers, extra staff) is required due to undisclosed access issues, extra charges may apply.
- Ensuring the delivery route is clear on the day.
- Delivery & Installation Service
Our specialist delivery team will:
- Transport the piano safely to your home.
- Position the piano in your chosen ground-floor room (or higher floors by prior arrangement).
- Remove packaging materials.
- For digital pianos: Assemble the stand and pedals is included in your purchase.
- Failed Deliveries
If we are unable to complete the delivery due to access issues or absence of the customer, a redelivery charge may apply.
- Post-Delivery
- We recommend allowing 2–3 weeks for an acoustic piano to acclimatise to its new environment before tuning.
- Digital pianos are ready to use immediately.
- Returns & Cancellations
